Rig Repired & Moved to Natural Falls State Park, OK
Jun 20, 2008
|Yesterday we awoke early and had our morning coffee before hooking up the rig.
We left right at 7:30 AM, and drove to Springdale, Arkansas, to visit the Mobile Suites dealer, Wheels RV. We had a recall on the Disc Brake System and needed to get a few other small items taken care of. We had a bracket for the gas strut on the basement storage area door, which needed to be repaired, a broken latch on a sliding closet door, and a clamp for the hitch wiring harness was loose. The rig also was very dirty and needed to be washed so we had that done also.
While that work was being done, Marilyn & I drove into town to a McDonalds for breakfast and to use their Wi-Fi connection to post the journal entries for the past three days.
We then drove to a car wash and washed the truck so at least we have things clean.
The brake recall was a non-event for us as everything was fine, and the remainder of the work was finished by 3:00 PM.
It was too late to drive very far but we wanted to get out of Arkansas at least.
Just a few miles into Oklahoma and just west of West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma, we stopped for the night at Natural Falls State Park. What a gem!
The campground has a definite “It” Factor, as Howard & Linda would say. It is beautifully maintained with concrete pads and many trees. We walked to the waterfalls and it was fabulous! I will post pictures as soon as we have a reliable internet connection.
The cost to stay here is $16.00 per night with the senior discount. Our only wish is that we weren’t already 4 days behind our previous schedule because we are tempted to extend our stay. We are really anxious to get into the mountains of Colorado though, so we will be on our way Friday morning.
Linda Payne, I want you to know that we have absolutely no idea where we will be staying Friday, Saturday or Sunday. We simply play it by ear.
Our rig is looking good and all is well. Yesterday was a fine day and we just can’t wait to see what this day has in store…..
