|Our first official stop in Florida was to Vero Beach for Thanksgiving with Mac and Kare with Kasey, Dallas, Neville and Raewyn. Michael was also able to Join us for the holiday. It had been a long while since we had all been together so this was a long awaited visit.
Mac walked us around the neighborhood, while showing us the different plants, trees and flowers. There is a canal or a kind of lagoon just outside their neighborhood that is stocked with fish, a favorite place for neighborhood kids to try their luck with a pole and bait; catch and release only. The flowers were very beautiful, as well as the many varieties of palm trees.
That evening Mac and Karen took us to Cobbs Landing for a seafood dinner. It was right on the water so we enjoyed looking at all the boats while we ate. Delicious food and good company!
The next day was Thanksgiving and they prepared a delicious feast! Everyone had their own specialty, with Dallas being the gravy chef. I actually had very little to do but sit and drink wine or eggnog. No complaints! Raewyn, the youngest, was trying to be helpful by handing out charms for the wine glasses. She gave one to each of us who had white wine. That left Don with a glass of red. We asked her what he should do and she said he could just drink out of any glass he wanted to!
After an awesome dinner, we spent the rest of the evening by the pool on the lanai just talking and catching up on each other's lives. The kids played in the pool, joined by Michael, the biggest kid in the bunch!
It was a really good 3 days; we are looking forward to doing it again next time we are in Florida.
