Stretch break..Lake Tahoe in background

Lake Tahoe

View downhill from campsite

Some downtime..who needs casinos?

Up early to backtrack toward Sacramento for new/replacement Chacos for me and replacement battery charger. Found grocery prices much higher in this part of the world, at least at Whole Foods! Winding road up to Lake Tahoe, a bit of a challenge with our rig and the road was busy, even with bicycles. South Tahoe reminded us of any other major tourist spot (think Gatlinburg). You really can't see the lake for the hotels, condos, and casinos. We just drove thru and stopped at hillside pull off for lunch in the camper. There are long views of the lake from this part of the road.

On to Carson City and Reno. Casinos everywhere (of course!) KOA located on I-80 with its own Boomtown Casino. Our campsite in corner overlooking Tuckree River and train tracks. We rode our bikes to casino, lost $2 in slot machines and left after short visit due to overwhelming cigarette smoke.
