MID-USA & ROUTE 66 travel blog

day 4 on route 66 (sun, 4th) - now we know why they called this the mother road, it's a "mother" to follow! today we went to: normal, bloomington, shirley, funks grove, mclean, atlanta, lawndale, lincoln, broadwell, elkhart, williamsville and now camping in a state park in sherman near where lincoln's home is. you have to pass thru each of these towns/villages in order to do the double 6's and see some of the left icons of the past.

in our photos we will try to name each icon, most are remodeled, changed names or just a closed skelton of the past... day 4 on rt 66 should be named, we will name the other days, if you care to see them again, when we get to a wifi spot.

ron & bebe

ps) trying to do the road AND find a campground is another "mother" - even at camp we have to go over our next days travels, study the maps and hope to find what ever we plan... this is one of those "everyday" is a fun day/night, i even dream of the MR66...
