I didn't know we were going to stop on our way to Juneau, but we did for a couple of hours (6:30 - 9 PM) in a little fishing town called Yakutat, which is fun to say. We got off the ferry and watched the process of opening the lower deck, getting the ramp into place, and allowing a few vehicles to deboard.
The town seemed to consist of a magistrate's office, a general store, a police/fire station, and maybe a B&B/restaurant. I'm sure we didn't see all of it because there were quite a few vehicles traveling the dirt roa and we didn't see a gas station.
