We pulled into Mountain View RV Passport America intending to stay only one night

, but the weather was coming in really cold and snow was predicted for El Paso, so we decided to stay another night to avoid the bad roads. We're really glad we did because there was quite a bit of snow in Las Cruces and we were traveling through there to get to Deming.

We never unhitched, so we didn't get to see any of Van Horn except the campground; however, the name Mountain View was well given as there were lovely views of the mountains all around. This picture reminds me of a quote from one of my favorite books, Little Britches by Ralph Moody who was describing the area around Littleton, Colorado and said the land moving up to the mountains looked like wrinkles in a brown tablecloth.
