Our trip from Savannah, GA to Kinards, SC covered 216 miles of very heavy traffic once I-95 went from three lanes to two at the GA/SC border. There is just too much traffic for two lanes up I-95, especially when it is heavy with trucks traveling different speeds and trying to pass each other, clogging both lanes. In addition to the traffic in SC, the condition of the highway is terrible with large chunks of concrete missing and nothing done to fill the holes. It did get a little better once we turned west on I-26. But at least we made it safely without incident.
We are staying at the Magnolia RV Park and Campground
just off I-26 exit 60. We have a 50 amp, full hookup, pull-through site with good Verizon and AT&T, and a clear shot to the satellite. It is a very busy park and we were only able to get one night, instead of our usual two, when we made reservations a couple of weeks ago. The sites are large with plenty of room between sites and about 100 feet long, easily fitting the Mothership and Libby in without unhooking.
Tomorrow will see us take the last leg of our trip back to Waynesville, NC, Trails End RV Park and reuniting with old friends again.
