Wednesday dawned cloudy with rain in the forecast. By 8am, it was raining fairly heavily and a late start was in order. We decided that indoor pursuits were appropriate and set off for the famous Tillamook Cheese Factory around 11am. The heavy rain had subsided and it was just showery when we arrived at Tillamook, about 40 miles south of the campground. The factory has a self guided tour and video about the history and the cheese making process, all of which was quite interesting. Of course, there was cheese tasting and lots of opportunity to buy cheese, ice cream, and souveniers.
We left around 1pm and stopped in Garibaldi for lunch.
After getting home, we toured Manzanita, the town nearest the campground. It's actually walking distance down the beach, but we drove and found the golf course and some picturesque spots. We decided not to golf today (it's still a bit chilly) and so went back to the motor home to take the dogs for another beach walk.
