Highway 58E to California/Arizona border - straight as an arrow!

We arrived at Havasu Falls RV Resort this afternoon to sunshine, warm temperatures and a great RV site with a beautiful view of Lake Havasu. This park is just spotless. It has a large clubhouse, swimming pool, cable TV, wifi and the washrooms and shower facilities are clean as a whistle.

We're here for 2 weeks so it looks like it's going to be a great place to stay even if there are no orange trees here - there are plenty of palm trees though. Our site is at the back of the resort near the clubhouse, and well off the highway, so it is very quiet which is nice.

It was an easy drive today from Bakersfield. Most of the trip, we traveled through the Mojave desert.

There were a lot of scenic multi-colored hills and mountains in the distance. A couple of the towns we passed through in California were Barstow and Needles before crossing into Arizona for the short drive down AZ-95 to Lake Havasu City. We didn't make any stops at all except once for diesel fuel.

Our LG-GPS, which Paulette has nicknamed "Gidget", as in "Gidget the Gadget", took us right to the entrance of Havasu Falls RV Resort, telling us exactly when to turn into the driveway - amazing!!

After getting setup in our site, I noticed an on-site RV Washing & Detailing outfit finishing up a wash on the RV next to ours. I arranged with them to wash our rig tomorrow as it is pretty dirty, especially from the run through Washington and Oregon. We're not allowed to wash RV's ourselves in the park, but this company is permitted as their system is pretty much self-contained. So, it will be nice to have a clean 5th wheel again. Now, I just have to find a place to wash my truck!

We took a short drive into the city of Lake Havasu in the evening to pick up a few groceries at Safeway. After that, it was back to the 5th wheel, watch a bit of TV and plan for our first trip to Quartzsite tomorrow morning.
