Believe it or not, I have now seen the sunrise THREE TIMES on this trip! This, however, was by far the most beautiful. I left my window open in my hotel room overnight, and just happened to roll over and open my eyes to the sky you see in the pictures. (Not many things can get me up at 6 am so willingly). After that, I had a lovely breakfast oustide (I've learned one plus to an Italian breakfast: they consider Nutella a breakfast food), and went for a short swim in the ocean. I then walked as much of the island as I could without feeling I was taking my life in my hands (the roads tend to be quite narrow). I saw Isola Bella, an island where an English aristocrat used to live after falling in love with Taormina (who could blame her?). The ruins of a tower remain which she built solely for the purpose of birdwatching.
