Larry & Lee Ann's Journey travel blog

I-15 Northbound, beautiful day!

Utah, dead ahead...

The mountains were pretty as we approached St George....

Heading back toward Beaver Dam, Arizona, !-15 Southbound, the sun made it...

I think Mom was pleased with her new blouse...

And her book...

I don't know what happened here to cause the blurring but I...

Thursday we took a day trip into St George, Utah to take care of some business and then we doubled back to Arizona to spend some time with Mom. We were out of town last week on her birthday and we wanted to take her out to lunch to celebrate it. She chose a mexican restaurant in Mesquite which pleased my hubby greatly. You know how he feels about his mexican cuisine! We were supposed to bring a Marie Callendar's sourcream blueberry pie along for dessert, but due to a scheduling issue with the VA, we had to postpone that for a week. Mom prefers pie over cake & this flavor is one of her favorites. We'll be seeing her again on Thursday the 24th so she'll get her pie then.

Yesterday (Saturday) we met Mom & Joyce here in town, parked our truck, jumped in Mom's car & delivered them to the airport. They flew out of McCarran to visit my Aunt & Uncle in Clearlake, California, north of Sacramento for 5 days. I'm so glad they went. Mom has really been looking forward to seeing them & vice versa. Uncle Will was in the hospital on the day of Dad's service so, of course, was unable to attend. He's suffered with many health issues since his stroke three years ago, but seems to be improving. I can't wait for a full report when they return Thursday. Anyway, we're babysitting the car while they are gone & have strict orders to wash it & fill-it-up while we have it! Just kidding Mom!!!! Seriously, Larry will take care of that before you return if you are reading this!

After church this morning Larry & I drove back to the airport. You might remember that I flew home to help care for Mom after her heart attack & decided not to return to Missouri. Larry drove the rig back to Nevada alone. Anyway, Allegiant Air gave me a voucher for the return ticket & we have been considering attending a convention in Long Beach, California next weekend. We finally decided to attend & after attempting to book online, discovered it would be considerably cheaper if we drove to the airport to purchase our tickets. And, it was! So, we'll be delivering Mom's vehicle when they land Thursday & flying out ourselves a few hours later.

We arrived home in time to enjoy the grilled stuffed jalapeno's Fiscus was preparing. Followed by 4 games of Wii bowling which required a score of 230 or more to even be in the running. Wow, those 3 are tough competitor's! Bonnie served enchiladas for dinner and then we lounged back to watch the cute movie 'Life As We Know It' with Kathryn Heigl and Josh Duhamel. They did a nice job, had good chemistry & there were numerous funny lines in it. What more could you ask for??? A full but very nice day. Goodnight....
