We decided today to travel west along the coast. Our first stop not far along the coast was again a lovely old harbour town of Neuharlingersiel. Again it was a lovely place to explore and popular with other tourist. Like Carolinensiel it had a beautiful harbour but in addition had a walk alongside the canal going inland. We learnt later that this town was where they filmed the German version of the British series Doc Martin!

Moving further along the coast we came to the more modern resort town of Bensersiel where we enjoyed a walk along the dyke despite the very strong wind.

We continued along the coast for a while but as the weather was starting to come in we headed back through the charming inland town of Esens with its rather Georgian looking town hall.

That evening there was a massive storm and we had to bring two of the slide-outs in as the wind was extremely strong.
