Another day off to sightsee took the four of us to the “Blue Rocks” area east of Lunenburg where we saw the rugged coastline and small rocky inlets and bays surrounded by the beautiful rustic homes of local residents.

We also visited an area called “The Ovens”, south of Lunenburg where we walked a Cliffside trail that led down to the famous Sea Caves which the area is named for. A minor gold rush occurred here in 1801 when gold was discovered in the caves and beaches.
