We woke up to the greatest day today it was sunny and warm absolutely beautiful. We packed up and left St. Martins around 8:00 am and arrived at our campground in PEI at noon so it was a real short drive and very easy to get where we were going.

We drove over the Confederation Bridge which joins New Brunswick with PEI. It is the longest (8 miles) bridge in the world that crosses over ice-covered water. They say it endures as one of Canada's top engineering achievements in the 20th Century. The bridge took four years of construction along with 5000 workers at a cost of one billion dollars. You can't really describe how you look out as your crossing and all you see is water and in the distance you can see PEI. We were very impressed by the bridge.

We had a real lazy afternoon just sitting in the sun and enjoying our site. The couple next to us are from BC in Sechelt. They are travelling around the Maritimes and then heading across the U.S. on a four month holiday a shorter version of what we are doing.

I am sitting here at the picnic table after finishing dinner and enjoying watching the sunset. The tide is out and you can walk for quite a ways. There are a lot of Cranes, eagles and other birds we haven't identified yet just sitting out on the shoreline. We are going to have a bombfire tonight and a couple of the neighbours are coming over for drinks.

The campsite we are staying at is called Crystal Resort it is very nice. Two brothers own the resort and they are trying really hard at fixing it up. They told us that this spring they put in about 25 new septic systems in and they are fixing up the sites. They are quite young so it was nice to see that they are working so hard at making a living and a great place for people like us to come see. Our site overlooks a huge bay and we can see lots of PEI in the distance. We would recommend this resort if your in this area.

Tomorrow we will head out on seeing more of PEI haven't decided yet where we will go but I'm sure we'll find some place great to see.
