Today I returned to Austin after a wonderful trip. I'm staying at Pecan Grove RV Park, at least for the next four days. There are no vacancies in the monthly sites but I keep hoping something will open up for me soon. However, I've identified several other possibilities in case I need to move on. While I'm in Austin, I'm going to try to catch up on some of my chores that have been pending since before I left on my trip. I've also got a huge stack of mail to go through, too.
This was the day to get caught up on my mail. Most of it was reading materials. The best news is that there was a check from Westside Auto-RV Service Center in Needles, California. They actually reimbursed me for a few dollars more than I had actually spent on getting my hubcap re-secured in Albuquerque. I highly recommend them to anyone who may need RV service while in the Needles area. They really bend over backwards to treat the customer well.
This morning I had my carpet cleaned by The Steam Team. It certainly looks a lot better now. I used a fan for several hours to speed up the drying process. It's a good thing, too, because it started raining off and on during the afternoon.
Tonight Val and I went to the Schlotzsky's Deli just around the corner from Pecan Grove RV Park. We had their chicken tortilla soup and split a sandwich. Mmmmm! It really hit the spot.
It apparently rained all night and has been raining lightly all day so I've just stayed indoors and continued playing catch-up. I didn't exactly rush to get out of bed this morning, so I got a late start. My carpet was dry so I was able to put everything back the first thing.
Today I ran a few errands and also voted early because I'll be gone on Election Day on a little trip with some of my Cen-Tex LoW friends. I'm looking forward to that. On the way home from voting I stopped to pick up my mail and then visited a little while with Randy and Linda Rosens, the couple who bought my HitchHiker. They have it decorated much prettier than I did.
