|Spent the entire week working on the rig. I've been wanting to update our bedroom for awhile and finally found the bedding I wanted. I also replaced the day & night shades with wood blinds. They are resistant to humidity and work well in bath areas, so no problem that they are close to the shower area.
I decided not to use the bed skirt that came with our new bedding ensemble, so I cut it up and covered the box valances that were already in place. I then went to JoAnn's fabric store and purchased sueded material to cover the headboard. It worked well and I was able to use the same fabric I covered the window valances with for the top portion (roll) of the headboard. I am so pleased with the results and quite proud of myself! I did a pretty good job for my first upholstery attempt. Just have to post a couple of pics so you can see the final result, lol!
Larry spent an entire day at the kid's helping them wire in some lighting for above and below their kitchen cabinets. He really enjoyed getting a chance to spend the afternoon with son Larry. There's usually lots of family around and it's tough to get much visiting done, so they enjoyed their one-on-one time together. They are still in the process of getting unpacked from their recent move to the new house but it's coming along. They are going to have a huge yard sale the first weekend in March. The community is actually having one so they will partake with many other homeowners. Stop by if you are in the area! The guys will be at Nascar so they won't be around to help. I think they secretly planned it that way, lol!
On our way home from Home Depot the other evening the full moon was quite pretty dodging in and out of the clouds. I tried to get a couple of good shots, but only had my little point and shoot Canon with me. Still, they are kind of cool so will share them with you. We hope to wind up our home repairs/work by this weekend and I have a couple of friends I need to catch up with. So Warren and Suzi, if you are reading this, you'll be hearing from me shortly! Thanks for checking in, have a great day!
