We drove the incredible Skyline Parkway today. We were disappointed to find parts of it closed because of flooding, but we really enjoyed what we did get to see. Skyline Parkway is one of Duluth's treasures, uniquely showcasing the city from end to end while providing spectacular views of Lake Superior and the St. Louis River Bay.

One of our favorite stops was Enger Park. Enger Park showcases Enger Tower, a five-story blue stone observation tower at an elevation of 531 ft. above Lake Superior, providing panoramic views of the Twin Ports. Dedicated by Crown Prince Olav and Crown Princess Martha of Norway on June 15, 1939, the tower memorializes Bert Enger, a Norwegian immigrant who found success as a furniture seller and donated the land for Enger Park. The park includes the Japanese temple bell, gardens, and picnic areas and an adjacent golf course with three championship nines. We took some incredible pictures of Lake Superior from the park as well as some awesome flower pictures. Duluth has some of the most beautiful flowers, this city takes the cake for flowers.

Another favorite stop was the Thompson Hill Travel Center. They provided us with so much information about Duluth, it also had spectacular views of Lake Superior and Duluth from high on the hill. Don’t miss this one if you are in Duluth. It was another awesome day of exploring, I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story. Check back later for more from Duluth, Minnesota.
