|I'm running a bit behind in posting these days, sorry about that. I seem to keep running from early morning till bedtime and there's still much to be done. But enough about that for now.
How was your Christmas? We had a wonderful couple of days. We started off by making an overnight trip to Arizona to visit Mom & Joyce. Mom prepared a very tasty roast beef dinner. We exchanged our gifts and visited until almost midnight. We arrived at our hotel room and found the battery to the smoke detector dying, causing a loud beep every 30 seconds or so. Larry contacted the front desk and offered to stand on a chair to remove the battery but they declined the offer and sent a maintenance guy about 10 minutes later. We were grateful for the silence when it finally stopped it's annoying beeping, lol!
Lori and Marion arrived from Ely about 1pm the next day and we all enjoyed having a late lunch together before Larry & I headed back to Vegas. We arrived with just enough time for me to get the ham in the oven before leaving for the 5:30pm candlelight Christmas Eve service. It was lovely, we enjoy it so much every year. Celebrating the birth of our Lord & Savior is fantastic. I always leave feeling such joy and fullness. Christmas means so much more than just the good food, good company and nice gifts. I hope you celebrated the special meaning of this day as well.
Christmas morning Larry & I exchanged our gifts. I am now the proud owner of Skecher Shape-Ups and I love them! Can't wait to start our walking program. We have committed to starting the new year off right and walking everyday needs to be a big part of that plan. Even Miss Onyx needs a more regulated walking schedule. She is quite the little butterball these days. I am still at my all time low weight and plan to make sure & stay that way! But the biggest thrill of all was my totally unexpected Nikon D-5000 camera! Whooo hooo, I am sooooo excited. My old Nikon D-50 is just worn out. Maybe the fact that it's taken over 15,000 photos might have something to do with it! I can hardly wait to familiarize myself with all the bells and whistles. So keep a look out for my next batch of photos. Especially the outdoor ones. I can't wait to get shooting!
After showering we headed to Larry & Tawnia's for a delicious Christmas Day breakfast. Miss Jasmine was so excited when we arrived and we had a neat time playing with her and her new toys. I am now an official 'princess' and occupy a room in her new castle. All right, I always wanted to be a princess! All too soon our time together was over and it was time to head back to the house to help a bit with dinner. Bonnie had the majority of it already done but I did manage to peel some potatoes and help set the table.
Cindy, Bill, Megan and Bailey were there and Larry, Tawnia and Jasmine soon arrived to join the party. Dinner was DELICIOUS, turkey with all the trimmings. And both Cindy and Bonnie made pies. There was pumpkin, cherry, banana cream, coconut cream and lemon meringue. Oh my, did I mention I have new shape-ups, lol??? Kenny, Traci and Lindsey arrived in time for dessert and we all spent a nice relaxing evening laughing, playing and visiting.
So there you have it, all of the details of a very special McCormick Christmas. I hope each and every one of you had special moments as well. Thank you all for the many Christmas cards, calls and blessings. And for the many annual Christmas letters. It's really nice to catch up on all of your news. If you'd write a journal like this one we'd be able to follow along in your life experiences too! Think about it, okay? LOL...Goodnight
