|Fri, 16 Aug: With fewer than a hundred miles to go we took the opportunity to enjoy a lazy morning. The bed felt mighty fine so we got up when we felt like getting up. After all, isn't that what retirement is all about?
Thus, it was half past ten when we pulled out of RV Village in Mercer. Bob piloted us back along the very narrow road to Mercer where we navigated the city streets to US 19 and the Interstate.
After joining I 80 we were passed by another 2008 Itasca Ellipse that had the exact same paint job as our coach. While the floor plan was different (we could tell by the window configuration), the exterior was identical. We've been passed by similar coaches, but this was a first. Obviously, we exchanged air horn "salutes" and Sandi took many pix.
Fifteen miles later we crossed into Ohio and exited in Hubbard to fop off the diesel tank at the Pilot/Flying J. After our fill we headed north on OH 7 to US 81 to OH 11 and finally OH 322. This was the most direct route and eliminated driving thru Youngstown, Akron, and Cleveland.
We are currently parked at the Maywood Community park, which is a 55+ community of mostly mobile homes. They have some sites available for transient RVers at $20/nite for full hookups. It is a lovely and quiet place.
We're here so Bob can attend a stamp show in Independence Ohio (south of Cleveland). He'll be at the show Saturday & Sunday and then... Well, to be honest, we don't really have any near time plans as this is written. We'll make that decision between now and Monday.
Today's statistics: Miles = 89; fuel consumed = 14.3; fuel economy = 7.8 mpg.
