An idea has been growing over the last few days that we should continue North into China and then loop into Laos from China. Today we have been putting our plan into action and preparing for our Chinese adventure as best we can. Most of the day has been spent changing flights and buying visas and dollars. The rest of the day we have been searching for a guidebook for South West China - no luck just yet but we have been told of a night market that starts at 6pm which may be able to help us.
Sadly not much of any real interest to report. Will do better next time as Halong Bay should be beautiful.
Oh, one last thing. Whilst looking for somewhere for lunch we spotted a likely looking Cafe which seemed to be frequented only by locals. Hoping for some bargain basement nooodles we ventured in and asked for the menu. The menu, helpfully translated into English revealed that Goats Blood Soup among other Vietnamese delicacies was ours for the taking. Pleading vegetarianism we made our excuses and left as quickly as possible for an Italian restaurant instead. Perhaps we are not as adventurous as we would llike to think!
