July 31 – Day 39 Sault Ste. Marie

K’s 98.32 k

Time 4h 20m

Average speed: 22.67k/H

T to d 4167k

Great ride today, but still a bit of a good burn as we still had some significant hills to climb including one they call the “mile high” hill. Everyone warned us that it was tough but I guess after 4100 plus k’s it seemed to be just another hill to us. It had some short sections in the 1.4 k climb that hit a 7% grade but most of the climb was 5 & 6 % stuff which we have had plenty of. Once over that climb it was pretty flat to Sault Ste. Marie and our next rest day after 6 long riding days on the road. Close to 800 k’s of Canadian Shield riding so we are looking forward to a little easier terrain in as we approach South-Western Ontario.
