THURSDAY

This morning I left earlier than I normally would have because I am the acting wagon master for the Cen-Tex LoW campout this week end. We were very pleased to have three visitors: Susan Stuver of Nevada, Bill Hamilton and Ed Harris. Susan was on her way to Florida; but the two guys live in Texas, so maybe we will see them more often.

This afternoon we started setting up our silent auction items and Marilyn (our shopaholic gal) priced them. She is good at this sort of thing. Tonight we had our potluck dinner and played games afterwards.

FRIDAY

This morning we continued getting the auction items arranged as more members brought them in. Then nine of us went to the Silver K Café for lunch, where they had a large round table with just the right number of chairs for us. The food and service were very good.

Our auction began at noon and other people in the park started drifting in to bid on our things.

At our business meeting this afternoon the members accepted all the nominations for officers that Val and I had presented. We also began casting our "ballots" for Camper of the Year. The results will be announced at our December campout.

The club went back to the Silver K for dinner. This time we were seated in the smaller dining room since we had a larger group.

SATURDAY

During the night a little rain storm moved through the area, so it was a bit cooler this morning. It rained a little off and on until late morning. I think this kept people from getting out until later. Our auction ended at 4:00 because we had to begin clearing the tables. We earned over $200, which I consider to be very good.

We ate our leftovers from Thursday night at 5:00 so we could finish dinner earlier than usual. The tables had to be moved to the sides of the room to make room for dancing. Music was provided by Jerry Webb. Over 130 people attended, so the club room was full!

Those of us who did not want to dance sat outside at a big picnic table and told stories. RVers have some very funny and interesting experiences.
