The RV park manager gave me an extension on check-out time today so I wouldn't have to drive my motorhome to church. It made it so much easier because not every lot has enough room. The church was interesting architecturally. The main building was octagonal, with a sort of dome. The ceiling of the dome featured a huge Star of David.
After church I ate a quick lunch and then got ready to hit the road again. I stopped at the Georgia visitor center for maps and brochures. The woman at the desk was extremely helpful. She steered me away from the RV park where I had intended to stay near Savannah. She said that the sites were very close together and that the price was much too high for that park. She even called two other RV parks to check for availability and price. She also put me in touch with a woman who has tickets for the tour I want to take tomorrow. They arranged for me to have free parking at a motel and take the tour from there. It would have cost me $8 at the parking garage in town.
The park I chose is the Whispering Pines RV Park in Rincon, a few miles outside Savannah. It is very nice. It has free WiFi but it has a limited coverage area. However, it can be accessed from the laundry room. I needed to do laundry anyway, so it was not a problem. I paid for two nights but may extend my stay if I decide to do more touring.
