Day 36: Kluane Lake/Destruction Bay, YT

Another long, bumpy driving day - really bad roads (Rte 2) leading into Kluane Lake (Yukon Terr.). The permafrost makes it very difficult to build and maintain good roads - this one was a beaut! Once we got settled into our spots, we had a delicious dinner at the little lodge/restaurant at the campground: roast baron of beef; baked potato salad, coleslaw, etc. - really delicious. There was some entertainment later, which we certainly could have skipped! We ate breakfast there the next morning - wonderful sourdough pancakes. Almost everything is home made there. Some of the food was served in beautiful burlwood bowls, which are made locally.
