We did a bit of exploring today in the town of Wilson, Kansas. It is amazing how much there is to see and do in this area. I am going to have to do a lot of separate updates just to cover all the pictures I have taken. :-)

We visited the Midland Hotel and took pictures before going to the famous "Made from Scratch" Restaurant.

In the 1970's, the Midland Hotel was used as a movie site for many of the scenes filmed for the movie "Paper Moon" staring Ryan and Tatum O'Neal.

Made from Scratch is just as the name implies. It’s a popular place for home cooking where everything is “made from scratch”. They had a salad bar and buffet for $7.25.

Today's menu was all German food and delicious. The German buffet included German sausages, bierocks, kase noodles, green bean dumpling soup and other favorites including sauerkraut and lots of vegetables.

Due to the number of Czech immigrants who settled the area in the 1870s, Wilson was nicknamed the "Czech Capital of Kansas" in 1974. All the shops are decorated in Czech colors and designs.

We enjoyed our visit much and hope you enjoy the pictures. Check back later for more from Kansas.
