We departed Tijeras near Albuquerque early, 8:00a.m. so we could get up the road ahead of the forecasted winds. We normally don’t drive when the winds are forecasted 40 and above. Too unsafe with the possibility of being tipped over. We went east on I-40 to Hwy 285 then north to I-25 and finally to Trinidad. The scenery wand terrific and the road was easy to drive with not much traffic.
Once got settled into our space at the Budget Host Inn and RV Park, we drove around town to investigate. We were pleasantly surprised to find a lovely town steeped in rich mining history. We loved the old downtown area so much we determined we need to come back and spend several days here, though maybe NOT at the same place we stayed.
Note, our rig is alittle over 6 years old now. Living full-time in it for 3 years and six months has evidently placed alot of undue service on the Sea Land toilet. Dave ordered a "rebuild" kit for it and installed all the components while we're in Tijeras. After only about 1 hour and 15 minutes all was doine to perfection, no leaks, no gysers, just smooths swooooosh! Dave admits it was alot easier than he'd thought it was going to be. The directions that came with each part we're easy to follow.
