Last night we watched a H-U-G-E production called Silk Road. It was in the Two70 room. It required reservations. This area has 13 panels they project different scenes on. Everything from an orchestra to pretend curtains. Every kind of seating imaginable from short metal stools to high back couches. Tables with bar stool high chairs, long bench’s, upholstered chairs, and foot stools it is a seating menagerie of a warped mind.
Anyway back to the show. There were people singing, drumming ,always the loud drumming, silk worm contortionists, birds hanging from the ceiling, violinist appearing in and out of stage holes. People doing acrobatics from the ceiling with long silk curtains. At one point there was two young men performing on a trampoline. Dancers, all the time the panels in the back were changing. A silk worm cocoon gave birth. Snakes were charmed ( young women in snake leotards). The male singer fell in love with the female singer and it ended with everyone in a production number big finale. It was visually schizophrenic. It put my astigmatism into over drive. It was loud and people loved it. Not my cup of mango-infused chili tea.
We tried to play Majority Rules over 18 but after the second question knew this was not the game for us. Our kinky level is eating frozen whip cream straight out of the container and costumes are worn on Halloween or Madi Gras.
So, as has been our pattern, we return to our room. Watch BBC game shows and reruns of NCIS. D collects pretend money on his Facebook slots games and I write my blog.
I have added a selection of seating in the Two70 performance hall. 4 of 10
