Well it certainly has been a great trip and one that we will never forget. We had been planning this trip for over 15 years and we are so thankful that we finally got the opportunity to do it.
After 3 1/2 months of travel, you would think that being home would feel great. Frankly, I wish it wasn't over yet. It is nice sleeping in our own bed but being on the road was an extremely free and exhilarating experience.
So, for a recap, we traveled 16000 miles in the RV and another 2000 on the scooter. Total of 18000 glorious miles. In an addition to the RV and scooter, we also traveled by float plane, helicopter, train, car, tour boat, jon boat, ocean going ferry boat, fishing boat, trolley, and bus.
A number of people asked what we spent on gas. Total gas bill $5850.00. Most of it in Canada.
Would we do the trip again? Maybe not too soon, but I would definitely do it again. Cindy wants to see the northern lights, so a winter trip to somewhere in the frozen north may be in our future! We have two other trips we would like to do in the next few years. We plan to do the Eastern Seaboard up through Nova Scotia and then come back down through the Midwest. After that, we plan to do the south route along the Rio Grand, through California, then back by way of Vegas and the Grand Canyon. Both trips should be fun but quite a bit shorter.
If anyone is planning a trip through any part of our route, please feel free to contact us. We brought home a lot of information and would be happy to share it with you and maybe help with your route.
I hope you have enjoyed our blog as much as we enjoyed doing it. It's so great to come home and have a finished record of the trip. I took over 6000 pictures which I will be choosing from to put together a 45 minute presentation. It may take me a few months but I will send you an update when I'm finished with it in the event you would like to see it.
We learned one important lesson on this trip. No one can put together a more spectacular experience, beatiful scenery, or wonders of nature than God himself. All the man made attractions in the world are no match for the majesty of nature.
So that's it for the blog. We would love to hear from you if you enjoyed it and give us any feedback you have for future reference.
ALL OUR LOVE
RICH AND CINDY
