We woke up this morning to temps in the teens, but clear skies. As we headed south, the temps gradually rose into the 50’s, but the winds remained brisk. We lost an hour today, changing time zones. We made it to Lubbock at about 4:30, and the campground we chose had a line of rigs also trying to check in. We didn’t expect the campground to be so busy in January, so we hadn’t made reservations. They had plenty of room for everyone, but we will have a tight squeeze between a tree and a truck when we leave in the morning. The good news is that we will be at our final destination, Kerrville, by supper time tomorrow. I can’t wait to park this beast and relax! The campground’s weekly Sunday ice cream social is at 5:30, but we probably won’t make it (we shouldn’t make a public appearance until we’ve showered and changed - Poo!). Mo sleeps on my lap whenever we drive, so my clothes are covered in fur. It’s certainly not a glamorous way to travel! We really liked our Kerrville campsite last year, and paid the deposit back then to secure the same spot this year. I called the campground this afternoon to let them know we’d be arriving a day earlier than originally planned, but I only got their voice mail, so I left a message. About 40 of our friends are already down there having fun, and we’re looking forward to seeing them.
