Black Canyon of the Gunnison

The Black Canyon of the Gunnison is a beautiful place. No other canyon in North America combines the depth, narrowness, sheerness and somber countenance of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. The one day we took the boat tour with the Park Ranger on Morrow Point Reservoir. The weather was pretty rainy and cold, but the rain stopped while we were in the boat. In order to get to the boat launch, you have to climb down 232 steps and then hike over ½ mile. It was definitely worth the effort.

The following day, we returned to the national park for a little hiking and drove the rim road to stop at all the viewpoints.
