Buck Pottery

Gruene General Store

Today I bummed around with Barbara Jones, Janie Cummings and Jan Herbert. First, we had lunch at Clear Springs Café at New Braunfels. My choice was their blackened catfish. Yummy!

After lunch we went to historic Gruene, which was founded in the mid-1840s by German farmers. We browsed some of the shops and I bought a pair of dusty purple cargo pants that I really liked. I already have a sweater that will coordinate nicely with them. Then we went to Camping World to get some RV supplies. Before returning home, we drove around the Canyon Lake area, checking out some other RV parks. We especially liked the Army Corps of Engineers' Potters Creek Park on the north shore of Canyon Lake.

When I got home I discovered that my refrigerator had stopped working on both electricity and propane and that everything in the freezer had thawed. Arrrrghh! What a mess! Bruce took all the food from my freezer to put into his spare freezer. I think it will be safe to eat since everything was already cooked.
