We had another wowser day, we drove half of the Amish Heritage Trail. We will complete the rest of the tour later this week. The drive is a total of 90 miles and it takes you through several back roads and Amish towns. You pick up the free CD at any of the Visitor Centers. It gives you a lot of history along the trail and lets you know when to turn etc. From Amish culture to fine art, history and RVs, there’s a museum for almost everything and everyone along the Heritage Trail. We are already planning a trip back to the RV museum.
Bonneyville Mill was one of our favorite stops. The picturesque beauty of this area would be hard to beat. The water powered mill has produced quality flour for over 150 years. We toured the mill and purchased a bag of yellow grits and enjoyed the park’s beautiful surroundings. The Heritage Trail audio driving tour is known as one of America’s most scenic drives with centuries of history, thriving communities and tranquil rural landscapes come to life along the 90-mile Heritage Trail. We can’t wait to complete the second half this week. Check back later for more from this incredible part of Indiana.
