We're taking a year off to travel! travel blog

After a leisurely morning we drove west, just skirting the northern edge of Atlanta, to Don's brother's new house on Lake Hartwell on the Georgia/South Carolina border. He had assured us there was room to park the RV and had even put in a special electrical outlet for us to use. What he did not account for was the length and slope of his driveway nor the amount of rain they had that made the ground so soft. Once we got up over the curb and centered on the driveway (leaving a few deep tracks behind in the process) Don was able to back down to the house. But the area we were supposed to set up on was impossible with the ground so soft. So we tried to set up on the pad as far back as possible. And, after much trial and error, we were able to engineer a scaffolding tall enough to level the trailer. Even with my extra step it was a gymnastic feat to climb up into or down out of the trailer without breaking our neck! That accomplished, we went in for a drink, and later out for Mexican food for dinner.
