Our campsite at Homestead Family Campground

Our neighbor was well set up for future power outages

I'm glad no campers were in this spot during the storm!

They've started the cleanup but a lot remains to be done

More damage

An insurance adjuster is living and working out of this little box...

Nellie just checking out the neighborhood.

Today was our travel day from Harrisburg to Quakertown where we’ll stay a week to visit with Bob’s daughter and take a day trip to Jersey to visit his brother.

A beautiful travel day today after all the bad weather that’s been romping around the east coast the last couple of days. It was a short 2-hour drive and we pulled into the Homestead Family Campground around 2:00. You can still see the remnants of the damage they had here although Donna and her right hand man, Perry, have been working almost around the clock to get it cleaned up.

Bob called his daughter after we got set up to make arrangements to get together but she said she was just too busy and couldn’t fit it into her schedule this trip through. His oldest grandson is a junior at Bucknell University and is on the water polo team so the family goes there or wherever they’re playing to watch his matches. His granddaughter started college in New York this year and she’s on the women’s water polo team there PLUS his youngest grandson is following in his sibling’s footsteps and plays on the local high school team. So…..maybe next year.

We did have a very nice one-day visit with his brother and sister-in-law (Wayne and Linda) in Jersey. I always enjoy those visits with them and hopefully next year we’ll get here earlier and stay at the campground in Jersey for a week or so. That would be fun, I think.

Did some geocaching; went to the Quakertown Farmer’s Market; I didn’t get to the Poconos to visit co-workers. Just sort of a non-active stop this year.
