Lots of fish ready to be shipped

Lots of fishing boats

Wayne (Bob's brother), his wife Linda, and Bob

Boy, we just couldn’t get our rears in gear this morning. Of course, with Bob’s bum arm he was having to do his usual 2-handed jobs with only one hand and for some reason, I just couldn’t seem to get motivated. Maybe it’s because we have such a nice site here…and because I only got about 5 hours of sleep last night...whatever.

We did finally get our chores done and were hitched and on the road at 11:35 a.m. It’s not a long drive down to Jersey but, once again, I’m going to bitch about the roads in Pennsylvania. They are downright horrible! I’m ashamed to even say I’m from PA anymore when people start talking about their roads. When we got into camp, even Bob’s chair was knocked all a-wack and out of place. Thankfully, our TV is still hanging right where we put it and still works very well, considering all the bouncing and jouncing it’s been getting since we bought it I-don’t-know-how-many-miles-ago.

Nellie is funny as all get-out when we first get on the road. She sits on the center console and looks right out the front window to see where we’re going. She watches the trucks go past and just seems to enjoy the ride. After awhile, though, she gets bored and goes meowing around, looking for Taco who is usually on the backseat floor hump in the beginning. After she sees where he is, she’s happy and settles down on the console, facing Sam. About half way through any drive, Taco decides he’s hot and he joins her on the console (if she’s left him room!) but he faces forward. Crazy animals!

Into the Longbeach RV Resort (i.e. really just a regular campground but with lots of stuff for kids to do) at 2:10 after driving 107 miles. Thankfully, only about 50% of that was in PA! I can’t believe the turnpike is so atrocious. You could tell as soon as we crossed the bridge into Jersey…the roads were smooth and easy-driving.

WELCOME TO NEW JERSEY (crossing the Delaware River) 2:45 and 55 miles.

We got set up and then went to join Wayne and Linda (Bob’s brother and sister-in-law) for a delicious linner at a restaurant about 3 miles down the road. Afterwards they went home and we drove on down to Long Beach Island…out to the lighthouse…to see what kind of fish people were catching. I think we’ll come back tomorrow and do some fishing.
