Because the park in Mansfield is so dismal for walking, we found a linear park which was quite nice.

Every morning we drive down with Madison and we have developed a two-mile walk through the park that we enjoy. The name of the park is quite interesting - Katherine Rose Memorial Park

. Some of you who are reading this blog know what I'm talking about, and some of you don't. My aunt who also full-times in her RV (by herself at the age of 74!) is named Kathryn Rose. I told her about the park and she said she wasn't too sure about the "memorial" part, but was glad they had decided to honor her.
Madison loves this park. It winds around Walnut Creek in Mansfield and has so many different smells and sights. Every time we walk by this one particular part, she begins to whine and cry, so we began to call it Whiney Woods.. She also has a lot of p-mail to check alongside the path (whenever she gets Spam, she eats it.)

. And of course, she has to leave some of her own.

But her most favorite area is what we call "Squirrel World."

. There are a lot of squirrels and she can spot them from quite a distance. She begins to pull and whine as she knows she could get one, if we would just let her off the leash. One day, we decided to give her and "E" ticket at Squirrel World. (That really dates me - you have to be really old to know that the best rides at Disneyland {NOT DisneyWorld} cost you and "E" ticket.) We let her off the leash and did she ever run! She had the best time; however, it was very puzzling to her that the squirrels could disappear every time they got close to a tree. She doesn't understand looking up.
