The plan to drive through Atlanta while everyone was at church celebrating Easter Sunday worked out just fine. Actually by the time we got there, they were probably all at brunch, but the point is we made it through the metro area without slowing down at all. The GPS says our shortest route is through Indiana, but for a number of reasons we are going to drive a bit more and avoid the Hoosier State. The finals of March Madness basketball take place in Indianapolis tomorrow, we will get to the eastern end of metro Chicago in Gary at the beginning of rush hour, and these days Indiana has taken on a homophobic and backward image. Best to take our cash through southern Illinois, which is equally homophobic and backward, but it's our own state.
So we're west of Nashville rather than north, watching the leafs recede on the trees as we go back to early spring. The forecast at home says the temperatures at home will be above freezing so Ken won't have to rewinterize the rig. Fingers crossed. We're back in our time zone, where we can watch the news on TV while we're eating dinner rather than after. Yay, rah!
