Okay, it's 59 degrees and I want to go back down to...

Joseph is the closest town to Hell's Canyon Recreation Area in Oregon. It's a pretty town, lots of horses, no traffic lights. Our first outing was to Hat Point, where one can see the Snake River from 6,000 feet above. At Hat Point, there is a ranger's fire tower that is closed off. Airplanes do most of the work, nowadays. The view of the Snake River and the Seven Devils is still awesome. We didn't take any pictures of the craggy peaks on the Oregon side of the canyon, because it looks better when you have a chart showing their names, He devil, She devil, Gremlin, Devil's throne, well, you get the idea....

The weather is perfect; no humidity to speak of, temperatures in the high 70's in the afternoon, low 50's at night. There's lots to see and do here in the Hell's Canyon area. We'll be sure to take lots of pictures as we drive around.
