Today is the beginning of my fourth year of keeping this trip journal. What great memories I have! It would be impossible for me to choose my favorite place. I am caravanning with Barbara Jones again this summer. We both are photography nuts and our vehicles just veer to the side of the road and shut down when we approach a beautiful or interesting scene. :>) We’ll have plenty of photo opps in Canada and the northwestern USA.
This morning I hit the road after Sunday School because I had a long drive and I wanted to arrive in Amarillo before sundown.
Cousins TJ and Betty allowed me to park on the street beside their house, which is on a corner lot. That is very convenient. I had plenty of fresh water on board so I didn’t need to hook up to utilities. The space was long enough to accommodate my rig.
Tonight we had dinner at The Big Texan, famous for its free 72-ounce steak for anyone who can eat it and all the side dishes within an hour. While we were there a young Oriental man was trying for one but he fell far short. I think he ate too properly. :>) We tried the buffalo quesadilla appetizer but I didn’t like it. The meat is too strong for my taste. I enjoyed the rest of my meal, though. (www.BigTexan.com)
