Well, my new DVD/VHS recorder arrived. I bought a remanufactured unit from Ebay, a Toshiba, and I spent the day transferring things off our Direct TV DVR onto a VHS tape for Mom. She has a combination TV/VCR player in 'her' computer/TV room so this will enable her to watch these programs without disrupting Dad's westerns! I actually have several hours of programs recorded that I want to move on to DVD's for us as well. We seem to find very little time for watching the 'idiot box' these days so our memory is always on the slim side. And we've grown very accustomed to fast forwarding through the commercials so we never watch anything 'live'. I have now recorded on both VHS and DVD's with this unit & it is a doing a great job so I'm very pleased with our purchase.

Today is my sister Elaine, and her husband Don's, 32nd wedding anniversary. And it is Don's 76th birthday. So Happy Anniversary to you both and Happy Birthday Don as well! Wish we were there to share your special day but California is a bit of a drive from here, LOL!

This evening Paul & Marcie treated Larry & I and Dick & Lou to dinner at the HitchRail restaurant in the nearby town of Pringle. We'd heard that the food was wonderful and boy, that was certainly the truth. The portions were huge. Dick & I got the last two available orders of the special of the day, smoked prime rib. Oh my, it was the best prime rib I have ever eaten! Two inches thick and cooked to a T. I understand the rib eye & beef brisket were great also. We'll definitely be back again.

Afterward we returned to the campground and Marcie served brownies & hot tea while we continued to chat for another two hours. Paul stays so busy running this campground that it's difficult to tear him away. So we really appreciate the time we shared this evening. I just love the home they built above the 'old barn' and got permission to take a few pics. Marcie decorates so nicely and both Larry & I like the woodwork throughout the home. Lovely...

So that's it for now. Our time here is almost done and we have a pretty full schedule clear up to departure time. But I'll try to get another few posts done before then. We're hoping to fish and hike at least twice more. So, please stay tuned. We appreciate all of our reader's very much....
