I don't think we had one "favorite place". Both of us agree, however, that the upper peninsula of Michigan is somewhere we would return to without hesitation. We enjoyed Grand Marais, Munising and Copper Harbor and would definitely return since there is alot to do for us there. The Door Peninsula was lovely along its coastlines but the interior was flat farmland. However, while there were many interesting places to hike and kayak, the touristy feel would prevent us from going back unless it was September or October and then, it would be difficult to find open campgrounds so....The best part of the trip was getting together with our friends Bill and Shelly Williams and Nancy and Tim Okal and Chicago is a definite "return to" destination; although perhaps earlier in the summer. We did miss our friends and family, though and not having internet or phone service much of the time was inconvenient and somewhat worrisome. Did NOT miss work, no offense to my colleagues. Unfortunately, our sojourn has come to an end with a return to work and responsibilities imminent. Still, it was a great trip and we love the renovations to the RV. And, we'll still be able to get out for some weekend trips before we have to close up the RV for the winter.
See ya soon.
