The Mount Rushmore State26 August - I decided to take a walk through historical downtown Sheridan before heading out. It turned out to be a very stimulating 4 mile round trip. Main Street is lined with many sculptures of varying themes and the old west saloon, The Mint, was very interesting. I crossed the South Dakota stateline around 8 and on into Rapid City about 9, where I’m parked for the night at WalMart, about 80 miles short of my destination but it should be an easy drive to the Badlands in the morning.
