Well, Jodie and I did end up meeting in Milford and had a wicked Octoberfest celebration at the local bar, but the next day I went for a paddle and she went on a day cruise. We bid farewell and I watched her drive away. Blake (my contact there) enticed me to stay another day (not tough to do you'll find out if you ever go to Milford Sound) and it was fine as! Clear, sunny. Another paddle. Good times.
