Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Our prep day was busy as I dumped and rinsed the holding tanks. I then stowed the hoses and put that container in the truck bed. I made sure the inverter was working properly and then changed the fridge plug to the proper outlet and now it is running off the inverter.

I programmed the GPS for our trip tomorrow and finished several other chores. I was ready when Jim walked over to help me take the DISH antenna off the roof. It is now stowed in the truck for travel.

We cleaned up and drove to Denny & Jackie’s place to share a meal with these close friends. We always enjoy our time with them. When we arrived back at our RV, I quickly changed into my comfy clothes and turned on the basketball game.

When I answered a knock at the door, we were delighted to see Jim & Karen who smiled and asked if we had time for a hug. Of Course!!

Now it is time to get some rest and I will finish this blog when we arrive at our destination tomorrow.

Travel Day….(Saturday) Jim & Kellie walked down to give me a hand getting ready to leave and we were able to pull out of Retama at 8:40 AM. The travel day went smoothly and three hours after leaving, we had refueled at George West and were back on the road.

I had been concerned about the weather forecast with rain and storms, but we had no weather concerns until we were about 30 miles from our destination. The rain lasted until we were set up and then the sun came out. Sigh…

The trip took us six hours and we are now happily resting at the Vineyards RV Park on Hwy 87 just northwest of Fredericksburg. Tomorrow is a rest day. Life is Good!
