Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

It was a good idea to remain parked yesterday as it rained relentlessly all day and into the evening hours. We enjoyed the quiet, restful day and awoke this morning to find our site in the middle of a soggy, swamp-like, area.

I waded around to get things ready for the road, disconnecting and stowing the sewer hose, the co-ax for the cable tv, and finally the water hose and electric cable. We had planned to leave the RV Park at 9:30 and were both ready to go at 9:15.

Denny & Jackie followed close behind us as we headed south on Hwy 281 toward Mineral Wells. We took I-20 west to Hwy 16 and took that all the way to Fredericksburg. We arrived at 1:40 PM and had the basic set up accomplished within a few minutes after parking side by side in Site 30 and 31. Denny unhooked his car from the Blue Ox tow bar and we rode with our friends to the Brewery where we enjoyed a fine lunch. The German Potato Salad was especially delicious. Once again Denny, Jackie, and Marilyn all brought part of their meal home for later while I managed to eat every crumb of my Reuben sandwich.

Later the four of us sat together outdoors looking at the map and planning our route to the RGV when we leave here Sunday morning. It sure will be nice to be “Home Again” for the winter. For now however we will enjoy some time in Fredericksburg. Life is Good!
