|Sun, 01 Oct: Can it be October already???
It is hard to tell in the Valley of the Sun as the daytime temps have been in the mid- to hi-nineties. No triple digits tho, and for that we're grateful.
We had a very busy week at the Mayo Clinic and, as seems to be the case, we have more appointments ahead of us than we fulfilled the past week. We must be very popular, they want us to keep coming back. Mayhaps they're lonesome???
Regardless, it is time for us to move so move we did. Up at our will, breakfast, get things ready for the road, and roll wheels at 0920. Bob took us south on AZ 87 (Beeline Highway) to the 202 loop, which we took west across Phoenix. Near Sky Harbor 202 merges with I 10, which we took west to the western suburb of Tolleson. We exited at 99th street and drove the short distance to Freightliner of Arizona, Tolleson.
We arrived about 1015 and got settled into a full service customer courtesy site. Today's run was a short 41 miles. We planned the drive to take place Sunday morning to minimize the traffic. While busy, the freeways were nothing like they are during the work week. Today's drive yielded a respectable 8½ mpg.
Bob took the car and made a run to a nearby WalMart for some essentials while Sandi got the coach ready for service. We're here for our annual chassis/engine/generator service and for them to look at a few mechanical issues. This'll be a big service and we're planning to be here three days.
