Today Tim, RV tech from RV Specialists, came to install the skylights and refrigerator seals that Rick Bott had ordered and to check the fluorescent light above the kitchen sink. Much to our chagrin, the skylights were the wrong size; they were about a half inch too large. The fluorescent light’s control board had burned out and the whole assembly will have to be replaced; they can’t order just the little sub-assembly board. [That’s our wonderful throw-away system for you.] At least the refrigerator seals were the right size. Tim said that he would install the seals, light fixture and new skylights all on the next visit.
He told me that I would have to leave the refrigerator turned off for 48 hours after the seals are installed because the surfaces have to be warm in order for the cement to work. This means that I’ll have to use up as much of my food as possible before the installation. I just won’t buy any groceries until after that.
