Tonkawa, Oklahoma

September 6, 2012 – Stillwater, Oklahoma to Emporia, Kansas

I woke up early this morning and got the car hooked up while it was still cool. Then, I ate breakfast and finally got on the road about 9. I took I-35 up to Wichita and stopped off at my favorite store – Von Maur. I visited with 3 of my favorite clerks there and showed off my motor home.

I arrived in Emporia at 3:30, and it’s a good thing I got there when I did. There were only 4 or 5 trailers when I got there. I had barely gotten the car unhooked when the motor homes and trailers started coming in. In another hour, they were pretty well full. Since a lot of the pads are uneven, it is hard to get the coach leveled so I’m glad I got there in time to get one of the level ones.

I called Sue to let her know I was in town, and we met for supper. Again, it was fun to get caught up on the news. Sue has a busy day tomorrow so it was an early night.

I did get by George’s Beauty Shop to see if Dave could work me in tomorrow for a haircut. He had one appointment at 3 tomorrow, and I grabbed it. I haven’t had a haircut for about 9 weeks so I’m getting pretty shaggy.
