Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Marilyn & I shared our coffee together as usual and still managed to complete the normal chores we do before hitting the road. It was exactly 8:30 when we pulled out of Deer Creek Valley RV Park on a beautiful morning with clear blue skies and bright sunshine. Just one hour later we crossed the State Line into Missouri. Marilyn was following me in the car which is now our normal way to travel when we use turnpikes or toll roads of any type. We communicate back & forth with hand held radios and that works quite well.

We stopped in Cameron, Missouri to fuel the vehicles and grab a sandwich. It was right at 2:00 PM when we arrived at Mark Twain Cave Campground and we were all set up in our usual site by 3:45. It took longer than usual to be set up because of a water leak at the connection to the RV. I worked a long time, changing connections, “O” rings, etc, and finally had things under control.

Jennifer and the grandkids drove in to visit and brought homemade chili soup, cheese, and crackers which we ate at the picnic table on our patio. Colby and Lauren then helped me set up the satellite dish. After the family left for home I called DISH network and finally had the local channels available on our TVs.

It was a long and tiring day and I was in bed by 9:30. All is well and Life is Good!
