Last one, we hope you enjoyed driving along with us, Merry Christmas...

We drove through the Branson Festival of Lights Drive-Through today. It was a one-mile drive along a path illuminated with more than 175 displays. The theme was "The Twelve Days of Christmas" a cumulative song, meaning that each verse is built on top of the previous verses. The lights represented each of the twelve verses, each describing a gift given by "my true love" on one of the twelve days of Christmas. I managed to get pictures of each of them, some are better than the others. The first three verses run, in full, as follows:

On the First day of Christmas my true love sent to me

a Partridge in a Pear Tree.

On the Second day of Christmas my true love sent to me

Two Turtle Doves

and a Partridge in a Pear Tree.

On the Third day of Christmas my true love sent to me

Three French Hens, Two Turtle Doves

and a Partridge in a Pear Tree.

Subsequent verses follow the same pattern, each adding one new gift and repeating all the earlier gifts, so that each verse is one line longer than its predecessor:

4 Calling Birds

5 Golden Rings

6 Geese-a-Laying

7 Swans-a-Swimming

8 Maids-a-Milking

9 Ladies Dancing

10 Lords-a-Leaping

11 Pipers Piping

12 Drummers Drumming

Branson is the perfect place for us at Christmas, they start celebrating the day after Halloween. :-) We loved it and hope you enjoy seeing all the pictures. Check back later for more from Branson.
